PlanetM Testing and Pilot Grants

The PlanetM Mobility Grants, separated into two categories – testing and pilots – encourage mobility startups and corporations to deploy their technologies in Michigan, or prove out their technology at one of the state’s world-class testing facilities.

PlanetM Testing Grant

The PlanetM Testing Grant accelerates innovation by providing mobility companies the opportunity to access the following Michigan advanced testing facilities:

  • Mcity at the University of Michigan (UM)
  • American Center for Mobility (ACM)
  • GM Mobility Research Center (GMMRC) at Kettering University (KU)
  • Michigan Unmanned Aerial Systems Consortium (MUASC)
  • Keweenaw Research Center (KRC) at Michigan Technological University (MTU)
  • Great Lakes Research Center (GLRC) at Michigan Technological University (MTU)

Other test sites may be added in the future. The reduced cost will allow mobility companies to focus their resources on enhancing and proving out their technologies, and deepen ties to the Michigan mobility ecosystem.

Location: Statewide

Timeframe: Rolling application

Value: Minimum 25% match in the form of cash or in-kind services required by participant. Grant amounts will vary.
